Hire developers

HireWordPressDevelopers

WordPress engineers who build proper themes and plugins — not just install them.

  • Pre-vetted senior engineers
  • 6+ years on WordPress core, ACF, WooCommerce
  • Performance-tuned (Core Web Vitals)
  • Onboarding within 5 business days

About this role

WordPress engineers we place.

Most WordPress sites are slow because nobody owned the build. Our WordPress developers build custom themes from scratch, write plugins that pass review, and tune Core Web Vitals to scores most agency sites never see. Headless WordPress with Next.js or Astro when the editorial experience matters more than the front-end coupling.

Skills & expertise

What our wordpress engineers cover.

  • 01

    Custom themes

Block-based themes (FSE), classic themes with ACF, Sage / Bedrock if you want a Composer-managed setup. No bloated multipurpose templates.

  • 02

    Custom plugins

Plugin architecture, custom post types, taxonomies, REST API extensions, Gutenberg blocks (React-based). Plugins that pass the WordPress.org review.

  • 03

    WooCommerce

Product types, payment gateways, subscription flows, multi-currency, B2B portals. Performance tuning for shops with 10,000+ SKUs.

  • 04

    Headless WordPress

WPGraphQL or WP REST as the data layer; Next.js, Astro, or Nuxt as the front. ISR / SSG so editors keep their workflow and users get fast pages.

  • 05

    Performance

Core Web Vitals to 95+. Object caching, fragment caching, CDN tuning, image optimisation. Lighthouse audits passed before sign-off.

  • 06

    Security & ops

Hardened wp-config, role-based access, automatic core/plugin updates with rollback, daily off-site backups, malware scanning.

Hiring models

Three ways to engage a wordpress engineer.

  • Most popular

    Dedicated developer

A senior engineer working 40 hours a week as part of your team. Daily standups, your tools, your timezone overlap.

    • Full-time on your engagement
    • Direct Slack / standup integration
    • Monthly billing on time-and-materials
    • Replacement guarantee in first two weeks
    Hire dedicated
  • Part-time / hourly

Specialist depth on demand for short-cycle work — audits, spikes, code review, migration plans. Minimum 20 hours per month.

    • 20–80 hours per month
    • Hourly logging with weekly summary
    • Same vetting as dedicated engineers
    • Stop or scale up at any month boundary
    Hire part-time
  • Fixed-scope project

Bounded engagement with a defined deliverable, milestone billing, and a clear exit. Best when scope is stable and timeline matters.

    • Fixed-scope SOW with milestones
    • Milestone-based billing
    • Includes hypercare on launch
    • Ideal for MVPs and audits
    Scope a project

Why hire from Diglogic.

  • Performance is the deliverable

Lighthouse 95+ at handover, monitored in production. Not a one-time score on launch day.

    CVs in 48 hours

We send 2–4 pre-vetted CVs from engineers who actually fit, not just match keywords.

FAQ

What teams ask before they hire.

Will you build a custom theme or use a pre-made one?
Almost always custom. Pre-made themes are tempting until they need a redesign or perform poorly — at which point you rebuild anyway.
What about page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder)?
We can work with them on existing sites. We do not recommend them for new builds — they trade build-time control for runtime cost.
Can you migrate from another CMS to WordPress?
Yes. Drupal, Joomla, Wix, Squarespace, custom CMS. We migrate content, redirects, and SEO equity.
Do you do headless WordPress?
Often. WP for editorial, Next.js or Astro for the front-end. ISR keeps editor workflow intact while users get static-fast pages.
